A 30th anniversary is a huge achievement in anyone's life, and is something that should be celebrated in style, so what better way to do that than with some homemade, hand-decorated cupcakes? When decorating your 30th anniversary cupcakes, think of what a 30th anniversary is represented by; pearls. What comes to mind when you think of pearls? White, pearlescent, light rainbow colors with lots of reflection, or shiny glass-like decorations. Make sure you don't over-do it with the decorations though as this can look garish and unattractive, especially if your cupcakes are relatively small.
However, you absolutely must have decoration, so think very carefully about it, as it's the most important visual part of a cupcake. How about some white edible beads, white snow-like edible glitter or cute reflective stars? You could also use glaze icing, which gives off a shiny, “not quite dry” effect that can look quite pearlescent.
Make sure you know what cupcakes your guests like, or at least roughly know what they're not too fond of. Adults are more likely to enjoy cupcakes with fruit in them, while kids are usually a bit bothersome about fruit in their cakes. Perhaps you could email or phone a number of people who are coming and just ask for their opinion? It will make all the difference when all your cupcakes have been eaten at the end of the night and you're being asked for the recipe!
Last, but definitely not least, make sure your 30th anniversary cupcakes are presented properly. Proper presentation is important, as bad presentation can put guests off trying your cupcakes. A platter or cupcake stand is appropriate presentation, while shoving your cupcakes onto a standard dinner plate and hoping for the best is definitely not a good look! Always take care when presenting your cupcakes.
