The 70s is known as a decade of peace, hope and love; why not take viewers back to a gentler, sunny time with a 70s party that comes complete with a festive 70s handmade centerpiece.
Peace and love are the concepts that one most commonly associates with the 70s, and thus should probably play a role in a homemade centerpiece for a 70s party. The host could create a collection of symbols that represent these ideals; such as plastic, paper mache or even blown glass versions of rainbows, unicorns, peace signs and a smiley face sunshine symbol. Using faux grass, flowers and trees as a backdrop, she could create a meadow scene that looks right out of a 70s film.
Another handmade centerpiece for a 70s party could embody any of these symbols individually. The host could place a tin peace sign, a unicorn of ivory glass, a multicolored paper mache rainbow, or a smiley sunshine of yellow clay at the center of the party table.
