An Aloha party is a great idea to welcome someone as that is the meaning of 'Aloha'. This party could be for a new baby, a new neighbor, a new couple or just to welcome people to your home. The invites will of course, have the "Aloha" greeting on them. As Hawaii is the Aloha State, an August party would be perfect as the weather will be great and that's the month Hawaii joined the union to become the 50th state. Decorate with Aloha Signs everywhere and have the welcome on balloons and party favors as well. Hawaii is famous for coffee, pineapple and macadamia nuts so be sure to include these in your Aloha party. Activities could include a "hula contest", a "limbo contest", and how about a "scavenger hunt where the kids can get involved too. You could hide coconuts. As well as the traditional Aloha food, you might want to have lots of outdoor food like, chips and dips, cheese and crackers and veggie and fruit platters. A barbeque will be the perfect main course with chicken, ribs, steak, fish and grilled vegetables. Decorate your table with lots of leaves, flowers and a glass skirt. For dessert an Aloha Cake and surround it with lots of other goodies likes cookies, bars, candies, and pastries.
