A bridal shower is a fun and personal get-together of the bride-to-be and all the people she considers family or friends, so why not give her a lovely personal gift on the side and make her some cupcakes? Bridal shower cupcakes can have any theme, color, or decoration depending on the bride herself – what does she like? Does she like blue or red? Silver or gold? Little or big, over-the-top decorations? These are all things to take into account when making cupcakes for a bridal shower.
A great recipe for bridal shower cupcakes is bouquet cupcakes. First, you have to use a simple cupcake mixture, which includes eggs, butter, sugar and self-raising flour (you'll need to make sure you have enough ingredients to make enough cupcakes!), then use the recipe and instructions below to make cute bow bouquets to decorate your cupcakes with. Don't forget to pick up all the ingredients while you're out buying your party supplies!
For your bridal shower cupcakes, you will need:
Butter cream icing, bright pink edible sugar sheets, light pink edible sugar sheets and piping gel.
And to make the bows:
Bake and cool cupcakes and smooth with butter cream.
Using a border punch with Flower Chain Border Cutting Insert, cut a flower chain from the bright pink sugar sheets.
Using a knife, separate the flowers from the chain. Attach six flowers to each cupcake with a dot of icing. Pipe the flower centers with icing too.
Make a thin bow for each cupcake, using a knife to cut two strips, 2 long x 1/4 in. wide from the light pink sugar sheet. Using the piping gel, attach ends to form loops and position on iced cupcake.
For a knot, use a knife to cut a strip, 5/8 long x 1/4 in. wide, from the light pink sugar sheet. Wrap around the bow, inserting ends into the iced cupcake.
For a streamer, use knife to cut two strips, 1 1/2 long x 1/4 in. wide, from the light pink sugar sheet. Cut an upside-down V-shape at each end of the strip to form points. Slide ribbon underneath bow.
