Think Earth and the Environment when planning your Earth Day Party. Start with eco-friendly invitations. Instead of using paper send invitations online or from re-cycled paper. Try to arrange for 'green' transportation such as walking, biking, public transportation or carpooling. Why not use nature decor for your backdrop and have your party at a park, beach or your own backyard. Blue and green make great nature colors with which to decorate your tables and yard. Inflatable globes and maps will also add flavor to your Earth Party. Small potted plants will make great party favors or prizes for guests. Play an Earth Day CD featuring nature's music. Earth Day activities might involve: a neighborhood clean-up, a tree planting party, building a compost bin, making homemade paper, adopt a beach or trail, go on a nature hike, make an earth journal or play Earth Bingo. Eating green will give you an opportunity to try new recipes with tofu and tempeh. Might we suggest tofu hot dogs, vegetarian baked beans, organic potato chips, soy cheese wedges and a veggie and fruit tray? The 'green' desserts that come to mind are: soy ice cream sandwiches, with chocolate soymilk and organic cookies.
