Your invitations could include any of the following themes and then carry this idea throughout with your decorations and party favors: Rubik’s Cubes, break dancing, Upturned Hats, Baggy Sweatshirts, leggings, jelly shoes, punker wigs and big hair. You could make it a costume party with prizes for the best 80's look. Think Miami Vice and Movies like "Pretty In Pink, Sixteen Candles, Fast Times at Ridgemont High, Valley Girl and the Last American Virgin." The music of that era that you might want to play at the party are: Kiss, Van Halen, Def Leppard, Billy Joel, Guns N' Roses, Madonna, Duran Duran, Billy Idol, Heart, and Cher. A fun game might be "name that tune" or "name the actor" in the 80's movies for prizes, you could give out small Rubik’s Cubes.
