Simple Rice Pudding
The kids will want to get in on this simple and tasty dessert recipe for Father's Day. It's an excellent dessert to serve after that filling Fater's Day dinner. Plus, it's only got three ingredients!
1 cup of white rice
1 cup of sugar
about a 1/2 gallon of milk (whole or 2%)
Combine the rice and the sugar in a double boiler and cover with milk. Keep the double boiler going and continue to cover with milk (check it about every 1/2 hour). This whole process will take about 5 hours until it is tender, but it is definitely worth it!! Sprinkle with cinnamon and (if you want) raisins. This basic rice dessert is perfect for celebrations when you forgot to go shopping, like certain recipe posters amonst us…

Having a Fathers Day Party for dear old Dad will be fun and exciting. Invite the family and friends by phone, email or formal invitations. Thinking of a gift for Dad is always a problem so why not try this: give Dad a coupon book that he can redeem at his leisure and include some of these items: mow the lawn, pull weeds, wash the car, wash the windows, wash the porch furniture, gas up the car. And finally repay an IOU. If you want to decorate you could do this with pictures of Dad at various stages of his life or if he's into golf, put golf paraphernalia everywhere. Here are a few suggestions for food items: cheeses, salmon, crackers, cookies, fruit, caramel corn, nuts, and pretzels. Be sure to include Dad's favorite snacks in your plan. For the main course a barbeque would be fun and make sure Dad doesn't do all the work. This could be chicken, hamburgers, hot dogs, or ribs. Add corn on the cob, salads, veggies and fruits. For dessert have a chocolate-peanut butter cake with cream cheese icing and Butterfinger frosting or if Dad has a favorite dessert, make that the one.
