The characters on the TV show “Glee” Glee Theme Party may not always act like angels, but their voices remind one of a heavenly chorus. So why not prepare a party dish that in itself is a little taste of heaven? Guests will sing with “Glee” when they taste the Singin’ Like Angels Chocolate Angel Food Cake Recipe.

Ingredients:
2/3 cup sifted cake flour
1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa
1 1/2 cups granulated sugar, divided
12 large egg whites, at room temperature
1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1 1/2 tsp cream of tartar
1/2 tsp salt
How to Prepare:
1. Heat oven to 375 F. Sift flour, cocoa and 3/4 cup granulated sugar together thrice, then set this mixture aside.
2. Beat egg whites at a low speed in a sizable mixer bowl until they’re foamy, or for approximately 5 minutes. Add vanilla, cream of tartar and salt. Gradually increase speed to medium while beating in the remaining 3/4 cup of granulated sugar, 1 tablespoon at a time for about 5 minutes. When the sugar is incorporated, continue beating the ingredients to stiff peaks, for about 2 minutes more.
3. Sift one third of dry ingredients over egg whites; gently fold them in with a rubber spatula. Repeat process twice more.
4. Pour the batter into an ungreased 10-inch tube pan. Cut through the batter to remove all air pockets. Bake 40 to 45 minutes, until the top springs back when gently pressed. Invert and hang the pan on the neck of the bottle to cool.
5. To unmold, run a thin knife around the side of pan and tube; invert the pan. Turn the cake upright onto the serving plate. Garnish with confectioner's sugar, if a little extra sweetness is desired.
