Or why not have brunch in the morning to give gifts and celebrate then later on carry out the more solemn ceremony of lighting the candles. A party for Hanukkah is the perfect way to celebrate this holiday on your invitations uses the symbol of Hanukkah candles or even a Star of David. Guests may bring 1 or 8 inexpensive gifts for each night of Hanukkah. Decorate with lots of blue, white and silver balloons, streamers, menorahs, stars of David, Dreidels and Happy Hanukkah signs. Entertain your guests with some of these favorites: the most popular game will be spin the Dreidel, and then try sing along songs. It might be fun to have people tell some Jewish jokes and then have a Hanukkah Hunt, where you hide Hanukkah related items around the party house and have your guests find them. Prices for these games and activities could be items related to Hanukkah such as dreidels chocolate gelt, (Jewish money) etc. The number one Hanukkah food would be Latkes with applesauce and sour cream. Some people also serve the traditional Brisket and of course, bagels with cream cheese and lox. In Israel Jews feast on jellied doughnuts. A fun activity for the kids might be to have them make cookies then cut them out in the shape of dreidels, and stars of David. They can decorate these with white and blue icing and put the same colored sprinkles.
