event. Harry Potter is all the rage among school-aged kids. Going as Harry Potter is not only popular for Halloween it's a fairly easy costume to make and with movies coming out each year the costume is also reusable. A quick and easy robe can be made using a large rectangular piece of black fabric with a hole cut in the center, basically turning it into a poncho. If you like you can make diagonal slits on either side of the folded fabric and sew together to make into wizard-like sleeves. Add a pair of wire frame glasses, a stick with the bark removed and a lighting shaped birthmark with washable marker and you've got Harry Potter! Magic Pumpkin Muffins Harry Potter was a great series of books for the kids and the adults. Even though the series is complete it doesn't mean you have to stop throwing Potter Parties! Start that party off right with these Magic Pumpkin Muffins. 1 cup cooked pumpkin or squash, 1/2 small chopped onion, 1 Tbsp melted butter 1 beaten egg, 1/4 cup grated cheese, 1/4 tsp salt, 1/4 tsp curry powder Mash the pumpkin well, then add onion, butter, egg, cheese, salt & curry. Stir to combine, spoon into lined muffin tray. Cook on high for 3-5 mins, or until set. Stand for 2 mins, remove papers before serving. Makes 4-5 muffins. Tested in a 650 watt oven. Rather than a sweet treat, these pumpkin muffins are kind of filling and savory, but still good. |

Harry Potter is the perfect theme for a children's/teenagers party. As every child loves these books and movies, you don't need to be a wizard to plan this fun party. Start out with great Potter invitations. Have the guests all come as Harry and see who has the best costume. Another game might be a mystery or treasure hunt amongst spider webs and plastic spiders, jars of potion, plastic frogs, paper snowflakes and white streamers with a Yule Ball. An airy and magical event for this Hogwarts gala. As the guest arrive, hand them a homemade cape and wand.
