Every girl loves to have a Hello Kitty birthday party at least once in their childhood and some even carry their love for Kitty White well in to their adulthood. Here are a few fabulous ideas to make Hello Kitty cupcakes that require very little decorating skills. To start with bake as many cupcakes as you need by using a good vanilla or chocolate cupcake recipe and set them on a rack to cool. For decorations you will need white, black and pink colored fondant, decorating gels in black and yellow and flower sprinkles. You will also need white, pink and yellow tinted frosting. All your decorating needs can be found in party supplies stores or in a bakery.
To make the Kitty face for the Hello Kitty cupcakes trace the shape of the Hello Kitty face on a cardstock and cut it out to make a template. Make sure that the size is right for your cupcakes and cover the template with contact paper. Roll out the white fondant and cut out Hello Kitty heads using the template. Make whiskers by rolling out thin strings of black fondant and tiny bows with pink fondant and stick them in place on the white fondant cutout with a dab of water. Use the decorating gels to pipe out Kitty’s eyes and nose. Now, transfer the cupcakes from the rack to a Hello Kitty themed cupcake liner and frost the top of the cupcake with white frosting. Use a star tip to pipe in the pink or yellow butter cream frosting all around the top edge of each cupcake. Place one Hello Kitty face on each cupcake and add the flower sprinkles on the frosting along the edges. That’s it, it’s as simple as that and your guest will go totally gaga on them.
