Here is an all inclusive recipe for making Incredible Hulk cupcakes with a twist. Let’s start with the cupcakes. Combine 1 cup flour, ½ teaspoon salt and 1 teaspoon baking soda in a bowl and keep aside. Stir in ½ cup cocoa with a little hot water till the cocoa dissolves completely and add milk until the mixture measures 1 cup. Beat 4 teaspoons of butter with 1 cup sugar and 1 egg yolk for about 1 minute. Add vanilla and blend in all the other ingredients to form a well mixed batter. Scoop the batter into a cupcake pan and bake for about 20 to 25 minutes or till they are done in a preheated oven at 350 degrees. Remove the cupcakes and let them cool down completely.
To frost the Incredible Hulk cupcakes beat ¼ cup shortening, 2 cups powdered sugar, a pinch of salt, 3 tablespoons milk or cream, ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract and 3 drops of butter flavoring until it becomes smooth and fluffy. Make two batches of this frosting one in green and the other in yellow by mixing appropriate food dyes in each batch. Pipe the frosting on the cooled cupcakes using a star tip.
Now, you can either get some Incredible Hulk cupcake toppers from any of your local party supplies stores to decorate the cupcakes or you can make use of this unconventional idea and surprise your guest of honor. All you need is an Incredible Hulk comic book. For cupcake toppers cut out the images of Hulk from the book and stick them on cardstock. Attach a toothpick to this and stick them into the frosted cupcakes. Cut long strips from the comic book and wrap them around the cupcake as cupcake wrappers and you will have made the coolest Incredible Hulk cupcake ever!
