An Indianapolis 500 Party could be held as a pre-race event or a great ZOOM theme for someone's birthday or other event. As racing will be the theme, decorate the house with lots of racing paraphernalia, checkered flags, toy cars, pictures of race car drivers, race cars, etc. This party theme would lend itself to Black and White so you could carry this throughout with plates, knives, forks and of course, checkered table cloth. Watching the Indianapolis 500 would be an excellent activity for this party. You could also have races where you divide the guests into teams. You could have a 3 legged, race, a piggyback race, a wheel barrel race etc. Give simulated trophies to the winners. This party would lend itself to a Buckets of Chicken with all the trimmings: coleslaw, potato salad, rolls, and mashed potatoes with gravy. For the snacky foods serve: chips and salsa, and dips, cheese and crackers, nuts etc. These could be served in toolboxes as an extra kick to the overall theme. Line the boxes with black and white cloth napkins. Secure napkins with car clamps for an added touch. To finish this fun party serve a delicious Oval Race Car Cake with tiny candy race cars on it.
