Kentucky Derby cupcakes are perfect for a Kentucky Derby party. Many people celebrate the Kentucky Derby with party supplies, Mint Juleps and Derby cupcakes. For that reason, mix a yellow cake mix up by following the directions. Then put the batter into cupcake pans to bake. When the cupcakes have cooled take a fork and poke holes in the center and then pour one teaspoon of sweetened Kentucky Bourbon into each cupcake. Allow these to Kentucky Derby cupcakes to sit for about twenty minutes. Then frost them with green frosting (this can be made by mixing green food coloring in the vanilla frosting). After the frosting has been mixed frost each cupcake completely and allow them to chill in the refrigerator for about thirty minutes.
A lot of people frost the cupcakes with either green (grass) or black frosting for the Kentucky Derby party. Either of these frostings will be perfect for this delicious cupcake. Once the cupcakes have been thoroughly frosted allow them to sit for about fifteen minutes in the refrigerator. At this time, miniature horses can be added to the top of each cupcake. In addition to the miniature horses the cupcakes can also be decorated with Kentucky Derby cupcake toppers such as horses, jockeys and finish line flags. These cupcake toppers along with an assortment of miniature horses will only add to the Kentucky Derby party. These cute additions will be very popular. Additionally, the Kentucky Derby cupcakes can be decorated in a variety of colors and with other objects such as miniature Kentucky Derby horses and miniature jockeys. Most people will find Kentucky Derby cupcakes to be ideal for most adult Kentucky Derby parties
