Ideas for
Medieval Centerpieces
Unique homemade medieval centerpieces are very popular among those that love history and wish to give a historical appeal to their home. Medieval décor is as similar to the gothic look which is due to the fact that it became prominent during this era. When thinking of which centerpiece will fit best in one’s home they will find that there are many ways to choose from.
One of the most common handmade centerpieces to choose from would be the knight’s helmet. Medieval helmets were designed for soldiers to protect their face during battle. Plus the more decorative the helmet was, the higher in stature they were. One can recreate these helmets just by using 4 basic shapes. For the back and top of the head, use square pieces of cardboard. Also do the same for the sides as well. Take and round the bottom edge that will be covering the cheeks and chin. Take tape and piece together the cardboard as needed to fit. Take foil and cover the entire helmet and fold it under and tape to the cardboard where it won’t be seen. Once finished it will be a centerpiece to be proud of. Also silver spray paint can be used instead of the tin foil.
Another great homemade medieval centerpiece would be the boots. These are simple to create by taking a simple pair of boots and wrapping them in tinfoil. Be sure to fold the foil into the top of the boots and work your way down the boots till the bottom is reached then fold underneath. However it is important that you are not covering the bottom because it will wear off. These unique boots can be set right next to your medieval helmet for that extra special touch.
