The ingredients you will need for your Memorial Day cupcakes are: Buttercream Icing, 1 red sugar sheet of edible decorating paper, 1 bright blue sugar sheet of edible decorating paper and piping gel.
To make your Memorial Day cupcakes: Bake and cool your cupcakes. Ice smooth with the buttercream. Using an edge cutter, cut five strips, 1/4 in. wide, from the red sugar sheet. Trim to fit the cupcake. Attach the strips to the cupcake, 1/4 in. apart, with piping gel. Using a punch with a large star insert, cut a star from the bright blue sugar sheet, and attach to the cupcake using piping gel.
And there you have fantastic, all-American cupcakes that everyone will enjoy on Memorial Day! Don't forget that if you're having a party, try and tie your cupcakes in with your party supplies so you have a general theme running throughout. You might want to include things in your party like the American national anthem, or raise a flag to honor those dead. But don't forget, your cupcakes are there to honor too, and should be treated as such!
