There are many ways you can create flowers on your cupcakes, from simply pipe icing them on, the creating them out of edible decorations such as sugar paper, dragees and rolled icing. Mother's Day cupcakes should be bright and vibrant, but quite pastel and neutral as well, so it's important to get it just right, otherwise your cupcakes could end up looking either quite bland, or quite overpowering. You want it just in the middle!
Great flowers for Mothers' Day cupcakes are Daffodils and Roses, just because they're big and vibrant, but very subtle at the same time. Of course, you can use any flowers, especially if you know your mums favorites, as she'll really appreciate the sentiment put in to thinking about her and spending your time on her and putting in a lot of effort.
