Get into the game and fill the bellies of guests with mouthwatering Calzones at a New York Giants Theme Party. This recipe is simple but very tasty and guests will be asking for more so be sure to make plenty.

Ingredients:

3 cups - Italian tomato sauce, prepared
1/2 cup - hot ham or capocollo thinly sliced and julienne
1/2 cup - cooked and cooled sliced green peppers
8 oz. - Italian sausage, fully cooked, drained and cooled
4 oz. - sharp Cheddar cheese, grated
1/2 cup - fresh basil leaves
2 oz. - sliced prosciutto ham
1 tsp. - parsley flakes (dried)
1/2 cup - grated Parmesan cheese
8 oz. - Ricotta cheese
2 each - frozen bread dough
1/4 cup - shredded Parmesan Cheese
1/2 cup - cooked and cooled button mushrooms
(2) 12 oz. - packages shredded Mozzarella cheese
1 cup - sliced Spanish onions, cooked until golden brown and then cooled
4 oz. - cooked roast beef, thin sliced and julienne
1/4 cup - sun-dried tomatoes in oil, drained
1/4 cup - olive oil
1 Tbsp. - fresh chopped garlic
1/4 tsp. - ground black pepper
1 each - large egg
1 each - large beaten egg for egg wash

Instructions:

Be sure to allow 24 hours for the bread dough to thaw before preparing the calzones so that it is soft to the touch.

Prepare what you would like to put into your calzone (the above ingredients can be exchanged for what you like). You can do this while the dough comes to room temperature (about 30 minutes).

In a bowl, combine the grated Parmesan with the ricotta cheese, pepper, egg and parsley.

Roll out the dough (after it has reached room temperature) and let them rest. Next, fill the dough with all the fillings and brush one side of the dough with egg was. Leaving a ¼ inch overlap, fold over one end to the other, closing up the filling inside. Flip the filled dough, seam down, and tuck in all the sides. Let this stand for about 30 minutes.

When ready to be put into the oven, brush the entire dough surface with egg wash and sprinkle it with some parmesan cheese. Bake for about 20 minutes at 375 degrees.
