Hosting a football is fun and exciting but sometimes a lot of work. Thanks to wonderful recipes such as the one below, a New York Jets Theme Party can easily incorporate a tasty appetizer with minimal effort.

Ingredients:

1 cup - flavored dip or sour cream
1 1/2 cups - tomato sauce
1/4 lb.- crumbled blue cheese
4 cups - baby spinach
3 cups - chopped Spanish onions
2 cups - diced green bell peppers
1/2 cup - salad oil
1 cup - diced celery
1 1/2 lb.- sliced hot Italian sausage
1 1/2 lb. - peeled and de-veined shrimp
1/2 cup - brandy
2 lb. - boneless and skinless chicken breasts cut into strips
12 each - small French bread rolls (tops and centers removed and served in a separate bowl)
2 Tbsp. - hot pepper rub

Instructions:

Prep: 4 hours before cook time, coat the chicken with the hot pepper rub.

Brown the sausage in oil in a large sauce pot and then add in the chicken and brown them together.

Next, add the Brandy to the pot and ignite the Brandy with a flame. Add the shrimp so they can cook while the brandy burns off.

Simmer for 5 minutes over low heat after adding in the spinach and tomato sauce.

Place the chicken mixture in the roll (serving as an edible bowl) and top it with sour cream and blue cheese.

If you would like to use the bread tops as well, you can serve them along side of the appetizer with the remainder of the chicken sauce and sour cream dip.
