Fancy Cheese Pastry Those Office parties just aren't parties without some classy food for the affair. You'll get lots of compliments and maybe that all important promotion with this Fancy Cheese Pastry. It's just as good warm as it is room temperature.Saute some mushrooms with tarragon, garlic and a bit of wine until the mixture is almost dry (the mushrooms should be sliced or chopped, by the by), take a wheel of brie, slice it in half, put the mushroom mix in the middle, and wrap it in phyllo or puff pastry (the frozen puff pastry works fine). Put in the freezer for 20 minutes to firm everything up. At this point, it can be moved to the fridge and kept until needed. Bake it in a moderate oven until the puff pastry browns. Let sit for 15-20 minutes before cutting. So, brie isn't my favorite cheese, but you can use a wheel of just about any kind of cheese for this recipe. I like substituting a plain farmers cheese or even cream cheese. |

Having an office party is a great idea. Invitations are optional and could be verbal or by office email. If it's a big event like Christmas or someone’s birthday, decorations are a must but be sure to check with the person in charge before you put up anything. Catering, if possible, is the best way to go or you could just order from your favorite restaurant. The only foreseeable problem is throwing co-workers into a social situation. Because of the dangers of drinking and driving, and the new sexual harassment laws in the workplace, be as conservative as possible when it comes to beverages. Games and activities will still be appreciated like a Murder Mystery Game or a Treasure Hunt or even a "guess who" game where you give clues about the "employee" and whoever guesses first, wins the prize or party favor.
