Over the Hill Recipes
The Old Goat Cheese Spread The point of an Over the Hill party is to have a little fun with the guest of honor. Let them get a load of this hilarious and tasty dip at your party and you won't be able to get them to leave when the party ends! 6 cloves garlic (unpeeled) 1 Tbsp olive oil 1/2 Lb. fresh goat cheese (e.g. Montrachet)(any other suggestions??) 1/3 C drained oil-packed sun-dried tomatoes, cut julienne Preheat oven to 350 F. Toss whole cloves with oil in heavy small baking dish. Bake until soft and brown, about 15 min. Cool slightly. Slip skins off garlic; transfer to medium bowl and mash to paste. Mix in goat cheese and tomatoes. Can be prepared 4 days ahead; refrigerate. Let stand 1 hr before serving. I'm a big fan of garlic, much to my wife's chagrin, so I always make this dip for big events. Or, even when sitting around the house. |

An Over the Hill Party could be for someone turning 30, 40, or 50. One thing for sure, people having an Over the Hill Party will want to celebrate as they have had many years of knowing how to party. Invitations could depict a much younger version of the host or hostess. Decorations for this party could be related to the era that this person grew up, i.e.: Elvis, the Beatles etc. Gifts for geezers can be fun or serious. A costume party would be interesting, Have your guests come as their favorite geezer: i.e.: Bill Murray, Cheer etc. Decorations are easy, at this age, booze, food and music. As geezers love to "whine” make sure you have plenty on hand, (Wine that is). For a fun activity, have the guests each tell their favorite story about the host.
