2 cups sugar
4 eggs
2 tsp vanilla
1 1/2 cups flour
1/4 tsp salt
1 cup coconut
1 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Preheat oven to 180C. Grease 9"x13"pan. Mix cocoa and sugar in a large bowl, add melted butter and beat till smooth. Add eggs one at a time then add vanilla. Mix together flour, coconut and salt, stir into coconut mixture with nuts. Pour into greased pan and bake 35 minutes. Cool in pan, on rack and cut into squares. Yields; about 30. My dad actually used to make these with me every year. They really have a lot of cocoa flavor.

A Passover Party will be a delightful way to celebrate this festive time of year with family and friends. Passover usually lasts 7 to 8 days and takes place during April. Sent out your special invitations with a Star of David on them or any other Jewish symbol that seems appropriate for this special occasion. As this is a solemn holiday and time of year the party itself will reflect that feeling. The decorating will mostly involve setting the Passover table for the 'seder'. Flowers will add a festive touch. Sitting on the table is Charoset (a mixture of walnuts, chopped apples and Sebastian wine), matzo, and hard boiled eggs. Next is served the matzo ball soup, baked chicken, and a broccoli and cheese soufflé. At this time the story of Passover will be told to the children in the briefest form so as to keep them interested in the ceremony. A fun game might be to see who can use the word Passover the most during the dinner. Another game would be to see how many words everyone can make out of the word Passover in one minute. This is a fun activity that could be done the day before: have the kids make their own Kiddush cups with plastic wine glasses and crafting jewels. Dessert could be white chocolate almond matzo.
