The Pittsburgh Steelers logo is very distinct. Even non-Steelers fans recognize the logo with its yellow, red and blue astroids. Re-creating the Steelers logo on themed cupcakes is not as hard as one might first think.
Think of the 3 colored astroids as a diamond with circle bumping into it. Sometimes it is hard to create a diamond shape because they tend to come out uneven. A great way to remedy this is to rotate the cupcake to where it is like piping on a box. When rotated to the front, it will be a diamond.
Another way to ensure the asteroids come out right is to pipe out an outline of a diamond and then connect each corner with a round protruding inward. The result is a line that can be covered up with white icing while the astroid shape gets colored in with either yellow, red or blue.
Be sure to remember to give the cupcake a finished look by enclosing the atroids in a silver or grey circle. If a steady hand is available, writing out the word “Steelers” to the left of the astroids is the perfect final touch.
For those that are not handy with any drawing skills whatsoever, simply ice the cupcakes in the astroid colors yellow, red and blue. Add finishing touches by piping a silver or grey line around the edge of the cupcake. When finished, line them up in clusters to create the appearance of the Pittsburgh Steelers logo. Any Steelers fan would know exactly what the cupcakes represent.
