You could have the guests dress up as their favorite rock icon or wear their favorite band t-shirt. This could be an especially fun party for someone's 50th Birthday. Rockin' Guacamole Never had Guacamole before? Well, you are in for a treat when you have this Rock n' Roll Gaucamole Dip at your Rock and Roll party. We gotta' warn you though. It may be too rich for your square ways. 4 avocados, seeded and peeled 2 tablespoons lemon juice 1 clove garlic, crushed 1 tomato, finely chopped 1/4 cup finely chopped onion 1/4 teaspoon ground cumin 3 5o 4 drops hot pepper sauce Tortilla chips Using a fork, coarsely mash avocado with lemon juice and garlic. Stir in remaining ingredient to blend. Garnish as desired and serve with tortilla chips. I have two requirements for my parties, good guacamole dip and excellent nachos. This fills one of my two needs at least! |

Let's have a rocking, rolling Rock and Roll Party.Or you can think in terms of High School Musical as your theme. On your invitations you could put pictures of Elvis or classic cars from that era such as: vintage T-Birds, Mustangs, Bel-Airs, and Impalas. Decorate with life sized pictures of Elvis, Marilyn Monroe, Marlon Brando, James Dean, a young Paul Newman and the Beatles. If you're doing High School Musical, you can includes pics of Miley Cyrus and her friends all around. If you like the idea, you could make your party room like a Diner (think Happy Days). This could be a costume party where everyone comes in their best Rock & Roll outfit with bee hive hair-dos, poodle skirts and bell bottom pants. Prizes for the best outfit could be jeweled sunglasses. You could also have a dance contest as you play the greatest rock and roll hits of all time. You could hire an Elvis Impersonator and also a Marilyn one...or a Miley Cyrus one. They will walk around and take pictures with the guests. Here are some suggestions for Rock and Roll food: veggie enchiladas, tomatillo salsa, macaroni and cheese, bourbon chicken with cornbread stuffing, and dips and chips.
