St. Patrick's Day is a worldwide known celebration that celebrates the patron saint of Ireland, and there's really no better way to commemorate this day than with some mouth-watering cupcakes that will have your guests or family members Irish dancing for some more!
St. Patrick's Day cupcakes are pretty much completely open to anything your imagination can muster, assuming it's on the theme of Ireland, of course! But within that theme, there's hundreds of ideas you could use. Ireland has a number of motifs and images that surround it, so if you do a little bit of research, it will be easy to find something that will suit your cupcakes.
What better way to make your cupcakes true to St. Patrick's Day than with some good old Guinness flavoring? This is relatively simple, all you need to do is add a few drops of Guinness to your cake mix, and you're done. You can also do the same with the icing (careful though, as too much will turn your icing brown!) and you could even decorate your Guinness cupcakes with some little pints made out of roll out icing. You could also use Irish cream, which can be mixed in the same way, with a little glass of iced Irish cream on top.
Alternatively, for alcohol-free St. Patrick's Day cupcakes, you could use the symbols and colors of Ireland – these are of course, the green 3 leaf clover. You could add green coloring to your cupcake mixture and use white icing, topped off with a 3 leaf cover cut out of green rolled icing, or edible sugar paper. Alternatively, you could use the Irish flag, which is green, white and orange. You could have green cupcakes, with white icing, and a little piece of orange on top, or a blob of piped orange icing.
So whether you're baking cupcakes for yourself, your family or just because you feel like it, and whether you're using party supplies or not, there's every reason in the world to make St Patrick's Day cupcakes – it's a great way to celebrate a much-loved patron saint!
