Thanksgiving is all about sharing and being thankful for what and who you have, so how about letting those special people in your life know just how grateful you are for their help and support over the years by baking some cupcakes that will let them know just how much they mean to you?
Whether you're in charge of party supplies or not, it's always a good idea to start planning your cupcakes well ahead of time so you know what you're baking. It's an even better idea to bake them up once before you make them for real so that you know they're going to work and look and taste good.
A great idea for Thanksgiving cupcakes is to make them personal. Count how many people you'll be with on Thanksgiving and make cupcakes to that amount, then design and create one cupcake per person to let them know how much your appreciate and love them. For example, if your dad helped you pass your driving test, you could have a cupcake with a learn plate or a car on it for decoration, then 'Thanks Dad!' underneath that. If your mum helped you through school, you could have a graduation scroll and hat, and 'Thanks Mum!' underneath or above it – not only will this look great, but it will also make your cupcakes much more personal, and those receiving will be surprised and grateful as to how much time and effort you've spent making sure they know what the cupcake is for and what it's about.
Alternatively, a more simple approach for your Thanksgiving cupcakes would be to simply use pipe icing – for example, use your Mum's favorite color icing and pipe onto the cupcake 'Thanks for school Mum', or using your Dad's favorite color, 'Thanks for teaching, Dad'. There are a multitude of these that you could do, and it by no means has to end at Mum and Dad. You could do them for friends, other family members, school teachers, anyone who has helped you and who you want to say thank you to. After all, that's what Thanksgiving is all about!
