A Twenties Party will bring out the Flapper and Bootlegger in all of us. The Twenties was a time for illicit behavior, gambling, drinking, and dressing to the nines. What a great recipe for a fabulous party. Decorate with lots of beading, boas and pictures from the twenties, stars from the movies of that era and booze bottles, guns (fake of course). Have someone guard the door (like a speakeasy) so that if they don't know the secret word, they can't get in and have them check their guns at the door. For a fun activity have a Charleston Dance Competition and then why not pull off an Elliot Ness Cop bust. Gambling might be fun too. Give everyone a designated amount when they come in and when they cops arrive, they have to forfeit anything on the table, anything else is there's to keep. Play soft jazzy music and serve Champagne and food from the twenties with lots of roast beef, chicken, lamb, pork and side dishes like potatoes and gravy, veggies and salads. For dessert how about cheese cake, lots of pastries and cup cakes.
