Woodstock Recipes
Get a Rush from Roasted Garlic! Whoa! You know what they say, anyone who remembers Woodstock wasn't really there! Make sure all of your party guests remember this Woodstock party with great food. The guests are bound to remember this super strong Roast Garlic. 1 head of garlic Butter and fresh thyme (optional) Using a sharp knife, cut the pointed top off the garlic head so that the cloves are just visible through the cuts in the top of the garlic. Several hours before serving, put the garlic in the oven at 250 degrees for 20-25 minutes. Remove and let cool. Just before serving, put the garlic on a heatproof serving dish; garnish with butter and crossed sprigs of fresh thyme, if desired. Heat oven to 450 degrees and roast garlic for 5-10 minutes, or until brown all across the top. Serve while still warm. To serve: Use cocktail forks to scoop out the cloves of garlic from the head. Then you mash them on warm French bread. I dare you all to try this! It's not as strong as you'd think, especially after roasting and its just fun to eat! |

A Woodstock Party will bring you back to the days of peace, love and flower power. Those were the "groovy times” when the dress of the day was tie dyed t-shirts, bell bottom trousers, headbands, afros, and leather and fur vests. On your invites you could put a picture of "Woodstock" and tell your guests to come in their best "Woodstock Hippie Outfit" as there will be a contest with prizes for the best, worst, and most original. Decorate with lots of smiley faces, peace signs, and lava lamps. Have enlarged pictures of Woodstock around the house as well. Play 60's music and make room for a dance floor. The food for this party could be catered or a nice buffet table with lots of different choices such as: sandwiches, fruit and veggie platters, salads, meat and cheeses to make your own.
